Bystander CPR improves the survival rate of someone in cardiac arrest outside the hospital. It's an important link in the chain of survival, along with contacting emergency services right away.
If you're never received formal CPR training, remembering hands-only CPR is a quick place to start. If someone is in cardiac arrest, you push hard and fast in the center of the chest until help arrives. The rate of compressions should be 100-120 beats per minutes.
