76.5% of Macon County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 15,222 citizens living in Macon County in 2021, 76.5% were old enough to vote, equating to 11,641 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 5,684 were male, constituting 48.8%, and 5,957 were female, making up 51.2%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Macon County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 77.3%.
