The Hannibal Pirates Girls Soccer Team organized their annual "Kickin' Cancer" game on April 29 at Veterans Field. In a show of support, players were joined by local cancer survivors as they walked onto the field during the starting lineup.

The team took the opportunity to raise funds for the Legacy of Hope campaign, aiming to support cancer care and services in the region. Efforts included selling apparel, pink ribbons, and raffle tickets. The team raised a total of $2,000, which was donated to the Hannibal Regional Foundation.

Todd Ahrens, President and CEO of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, accepted the donation alongside Wendy Harrington, President and CEO of Hannibal Regional Foundation, Dr. Kevin Palka, Oncologist at Hannibal Regional Cancer Institute, Bob Hess, Director of Cary Cancer Center, and Wendy Johnson, Board Chair of Hannibal Regional Foundation.
