Hannibal Regional Medical Group has announced the addition of Mandy McAllister, FNP, to its Gastroenterology team. McAllister, who completed her nursing degree at Maryville University, has been providing gastroenterology care in the region for several years.
McAllister expressed her dedication to helping patients and explained her decision to specialize in gastroenterology and hepatology due to personal experiences with family members affected by related conditions. She stated, “There is a special place in my heart for the specialties of Gastroenterology and Hepatology as many of my family members have been affected by related diseases. I believe that all patients deserve to be treated as I would treat my own family. That is why I am passionate about taking the time to provide thorough patient education to ensure that all patients feel knowledgeable about their condition, as well as strategies to maintain a positive quality of life.”
She also highlighted her reasons for joining Hannibal Regional, citing the organization's culture and supportive leadership. McAllister remarked, “I chose to join Hannibal Regional because of their culture. It is unique and supportive, with leadership that cares about their team members. Having a voice within a healthcare organization is essential to providing quality care and focusing on the patient’s health to guide them to better. It only made sense to work for an organization that aligns with my missions and values.”
Reflecting on her career, McAllister noted the importance of building trust with patients: “The most rewarding aspect of my job is simply helping patients,” she said. “I pride myself on building a foundation of trust with each patient.
