Congressman Sam Graves has announced that the Highway 54 Shared Four-Lane Project will receive a significant financial boost with a $24.9 million BUILD Grant. This funding aims to expand a 14-mile stretch of US Route 54 from two lanes to a shared four-lane configuration between Farber and Curryville, Missouri. The project will also involve improvements at the intersection of US Route 54 and MO 154, as well as utility relocations.

Graves emphasized the importance of this grant, stating, "Securing this BUILD Grant is a huge step forward on a project that has been in the works for many years." He acknowledged the efforts of various local organizations and expressed gratitude to President Trump and Secretary Duffy for their support in securing the funding.

In 2015, Graves had previously secured a $10 million TIGER Grant for replacing the Champ Clark Bridge on Highway 54 between Louisiana, Missouri, and Pike County, Illinois.
