U.S. Congressman Sam Graves, who represents Missouri’s 6th district, has recently addressed issues surrounding air traffic controllers and the federal government shutdown in a series of social media posts.
On November 12, 2025, Graves posted on his X account: "Our air traffic controllers work incredibly stressful jobs, that have been made far more difficult by not getting paid during the shutdown. They know how important and critical their jobs are. They take it very seriously and they deserve to be paid for it. It’s time to pass the https://t.co/NQoUhZcjEQ".
The following day, he commented on the conclusion of the federal government shutdown: "Senator Schumer’s senseless shutdown is finally coming to an end. Many Americans, including our air traffic controllers, members of our military, and many more, were held hostage for 43 days purely for political gain. I appreciate our air traffic controllers and other" (posted November 13, 2025).
Later on November 13, Graves shared his participation in a media appearance: "Great to be on with @MariaBartiromo to talk about air travel and the upcoming highway bill I'm working on. https://t.co/24NW6ms8oX".
Sam Graves has represented Missouri’s 6th District in Congress since 2001 after succeeding Pat Danner. He previously served in both the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate before entering Congress. Born in Tarkio, Missouri in 1963, Graves holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri (earned in 1986) and continues to reside in Tarkio.
