Hannibal Regional Foundation will hold its annual Paws For a Cause walk on Saturday, September 6 at 9:00 am. The event takes place on the Hannibal Regional Healthy Way Fitness Trail and aims to support local cancer survivors and families. The walk emphasizes the positive role pets have in helping patients cope during treatment.

This year’s event will honor Buddy, a golden retriever who was involved with Paws For a Cause for many years. Organizers also announced that Sawyer, another dog, will participate as grand marshal alongside cancer survivor Mary Dunaway.

Participants can register ahead of time by calling the Foundation or visiting hannibalregional.org/paws4cause. Registration is also available on the morning of the event at the Fitness Trail. Those who sign up will receive a t-shirt, a gift for their pet, and a professional photograph starting at 8:00 am near the Start line.

Funds raised from the walk are designated for Hannibal Regional Foundation’s Legacy of Hope Campaign, which supports cancer care throughout the region.
